About Lung Cancer

Lung cancer occurs in many forms, although some are more common than others. It can also appear as a mixture of types. The most common forms include:

  • Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the most common type, accounting for 85 to 90 percent of cases1

  • Small cell lung cancer (SCLC), accounts for most of the remaining 10 to 15 percent of cases1

  • Other types of lung cancer, such as malignant mesothelioma, cancer developing from cells of the pleura and cancer that spreads to the lungs from other organs2
