Who Should Receive EarlyCDT®-Breast?
EarlyCDT®-Breast is particularly appropriate for women under age 55 who are at increased risk for breast cancer according to one or more of the accepted risk-analysis scales. Used in concert with mammography, EarlyCDT®-Breast has the potential to detect cancer up to four years earlier than has been possible until now.1 Because their breast tissue is commonly less dense, women over age 55 are better candidates for mammography alone, although they, too could benefit from EarlyCDT®-Breast.
In terms of breast cancer detection, EarlyCDT®-Breast is an important breakthrough technology. Its power to detect cancer well before other examination and imaging techniques means more women will receive earlier diagnosis and treatment. More women will be diagnosed while the cancer is still confined to the breast and therefore almost 100 percent curable.
